FAQ

If you’re concerned about your relationship with food, that’s enough reason to reach out. There’s no threshold you need to meet – we’re here to support you at any stage of your journey. Early support can be incredibly valuable.

Your first visit is a gentle conversation where we simply get to know you. We’ll:

  • Chat in a relaxed, private setting
  • Listen to your concerns without judgment
  • Answer any questions you have
  • Discuss possible next steps only if you’re ready There’s no pressure to make any decisions during this first meeting.

No referral is needed to see us. However, if you’d like to access Medicare rebates, you can ask your GP about an Eating Disorder Plan or a  Chronic Disease Management Plan. We’re happy to explain how this works.

Everyone’s journey is different, and we move at your pace. There’s no set timeline – we’ll work together to create a support plan that feels right for you. Remember, recovery isn’t linear, and that’s perfectly okay. Eating Disorder Plans provide Medicare rebates for up to 20 appointments in a calendar year which allows for appointments to be more often when needed while allowing flexibility to extend this to a comfortable pace for you.

We don’t believe in rigid approaches. Any strategies we discuss will be gentle, flexible, and developed together. We focus on building a peaceful relationship with food at a pace that feels comfortable for you. There may be times when a more detailed food guide is needed to ensure you are nourished and physically prepared for your recovery journey.

Absolutely! You’re welcome to bring a support person (or animal) to any appointment. This could be a family member, friend, or anyone who helps you feel more comfortable.

Yes! We provide secure telehealth consultations if you:

  • Prefer to connect from home
  • Live far from our Gold Coast locations
  • Have mobility or transport challenges The support is just as personal and effective as in-person visits.

We understand that life can be unpredictable. Just let us know 24 hours before your appointment if you need to reschedule. There’s no judgment – we’re here to support you when you’re ready.

Absolutely. Your privacy is crucial to us. Everything discussed in sessions remains confidential within your healthcare team. We only share information with other providers with your explicit permission.

If you’re over 16, you can seek support independently. We can discuss privacy concerns during your first appointment and find solutions that work for your situation.

Those feelings are completely normal. You can:

  • Call us for a brief chat: 07 5533 8866
  • Email us with questions to [email protected]
  • Have a family member or friend make initial contact There’s no pressure – we’re here when you feel ready to take that first step.

You don’t need to prepare anything specific. Just come as you are. If you have any medical information or referrals you’d like to share, you can bring those, but they’re not required for our first chat.

💭 Remember: Reaching out for support shows incredible strength. We’re here to listen without judgment and support you in whatever way feels right for you.
